Dr.
Stephanie Johnson received her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer
College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California in December 2012;
graduating Salutatorian and Magna Cum Laude. She completed her clinical
internship under the guidance of Dr. William Morgan at the Walter Reed
National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, where she later
worked as the first female chiropractor at the hospital.
Prior to chiropractic, she studied yoga and became a Registered Yoga
Teacher (RYT 200 hr) through the Yoga Alliance. Dr. Johnson is an active
member of the Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association (UVCA), the
American Chiropractic Association (ACA), and is currently the Virginia
state delegate for the ACA.
A California native, Dr. Johnson attended the University of
California Berkeley where she received both her Bachelor of Science in
Nutritional Science/Toxicology and Bachelor of Arts in Dance and
Performance Studies. Dr. Johnson’s passion for wellness and movement
stem from 20+ years of studying dance in both classical ballet and
modern, as well as 20+ years of practicing yoga. Transitioning from
dance in 2008, she picked up distance running and running marathons.
Crossfit and Olympic weightlifting became her favorite form of physical
activity in 2015, and currently reign as her movement staples.
Dr. Johnson is Webster certified, specializing in chiropractic care
for expecting mothers. Her technique repertoire consists of Diversified,
Thompson, Cox Flexion-Distraction, and IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft
Tissue Mobilization). She is certified in both ART and Rocktape.
Treating the full spine and extremities, Dr. Johnson serves to improve
function and quality of life for folks of all ages and professions.
