MATTHEW WILSON DC, FIACA, CCWP, GRASTON M1 CERTIFIED
Dr. Wilson received his B.A. Degree from The University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. He went on to receive a D.C. (Doctor of Chiropractic) in 2009 from Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, IA. While at Palmer Dr. Wilson completed an internship at the Palmer Sports Injury and Rehabilitation Clinic where he expanded his clinical skills to include the treatment of soft tissue injury and sports injury, as well as rehabilitation of the spine and extremities.
Following graduation from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Wilson completed a 1 year certification as a C.C.W.P. (Certified Chiropractic Wellness Practitioner) through the International Chiropractic Association. This certification is based on the latest scientific evidence supporting the natural requirements for health in nutrition and exercise. Dr. Wilson is one of only a handful of Graston M1 Certified chiropractors in the Des Moines Area. This technique allows Dr. Wilson to treat soft tissue more efficiently and effectively, reducing pain and treatment time and increasing positive outcomes for his patients. Dr. Wilson is a certified chiropractic acupuncturist and has gone through the IACA’s extensive acupuncture training. Adding services for professional acupuncture in Des Moines will allow Dr. Wilson to treat hundreds of conditions ranging from musculo-skeletal pain to allergies, headaches, infertility and much more. The World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture as beneficial for over 800 different conditions.
Dr. Wilson, is a well know chiropractor in West Des Moines, is active in the American Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Association, Council for Wellness Science, and has served as an officer for the South Central district of the Iowa Chiropractic Society. He also enjoys being active in the Des Moines Metro community. In addition to being a member of the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Wilson volunteers as a rugby coach for the Valley High School 7s team. Born and raised in the Quad Cities, Dr. Wilson enjoys many sports and outdoor activities, as well as spending time with his wife Laura and daughters Reese and Drew.
